Six Nations of the Grand River, Brantford, Ontario

Six Nations of the Grand River Territory is located near Brantford, ON, and is the largest populated First Nation in Canada with over 21,000 people living in the community. Six Nations is home to peoples who belong to six different nations – the Mohawk, Cayuga, Tuscarora, Oneida, Onondaga and Seneca.

From 2002-2004, Careforce became involved in Six Nations by working with the Department of Corrections on a program for youth in trouble with the law in partnership with Darryl Styres. Careforce staff also volunteered in a local elementary school teaching computers and literacy to grades 7 and 8 students as well as assisting young mothers with training through the Agape Food Bank program. In 2006, Careforce launched the BASE Camp program for kids in partnership with Mississauga City Baptist Church and Hope Multicultural Church.
