After leading 13 Careforce teams to Burkina Faso over the last few years, Roger and his wife Chris decided it was time to make a permanent move to the country they had come to love. Both have come to realize the desperate lack of opportunities for employment there are for youth and young adults in the country, and have given up everything to help.
With over 25 years experience in the construction industry, including teaching and running a successful business here in Canada, Roger and Chris are now running a construction skills training centre in Burkina Faso. There is a critical need for skilled and semi-skilled construction workers among the construction companies in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. The CFPC is located in Nabrabogo, just outside of the city and is starting with just 20 students. The end goal is provide young men with the necessary skills to find well paid work and there by provide for their families and communities in one of the poorest countries in the world.
We will be posting regular updates of the progress in this project on the pages of this website. As the project progresses there will be a number of opportunities for involvement by giving financially and volunteering at this project on an explore team.
