Urgent Need To Provide Health Care in Burkina Faso
The Village of Hope is a safe place where 450 children live and learn. The staff and teachers are some of the best in Burkina Faso. People from the ministry of education regularly seek out the senior teachers at the Village for input into education policy. The standard of education at the Village of Hope is not only making a difference int he lives of 450 children, it is impacting all of Burkina. We want to provide the same standard of health care to both the kids and the community surrounding the Village.
The Village of Hope has a health clinic where sick or injured children are treated by trained, qualified medical staff. Part of Pastor Michel's long term vision for the project is make this clinic accessible to the local population who are often completedly isolated from health care. For this to happen, some additional investment must take place.
Currently the clinic has two treatment rooms and a pharmacy. A trained, qualified
nurse is on site 5 days a week. To make the clinic available to the local people we need to increase the amount of drugs and medicines available at the clinic.
Next door to the clinic is a long term care facililty still under construction. Completing this will allow patients to remain on site over night or if neccessary for several days to receive treatment. Finally for the clinic to safely accessible to local people we need to build a security wall around both buildings and complete the wall around the entire Village of Hope compound for everyone's protection.
Please consider making a one-time donation or a regular monthly donation for one of the following:
$40 - Block-making supplies and mortar for 1 linear meter of security wall
$75 - Construction materials for finishing the long term care facility
$300 - Drugs for the clinic for one month
$350 - Salary for one month for an additional nurse
